10 Milly Steps Challenge, How Our Community is Walking Its Way Toward Better Health

In just under 90 days, what began as a year long idea has already turned into something much bigger than we imagined. Since launching the 10 Milly Steps Challenge, our community has collectively walked just over 6 million steps, and with that momentum, our focus is now firmly set on reaching 10 million steps together. What makes this milestone powerful is not just the number, but the consistency, commitment, and awareness being built across our community in real time.

The 10 Milly Steps Challenge was created as a natural extension of the mission behind G Ann’s Cold Pressed, supporting wellness in a way that is sustainable, accessible, and rooted in real life. While our customers were doing an incredible job incorporating cold pressed juices and increasing their intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, we recognized that one critical component of holistic wellness was often being overlooked, daily movement. Nutrition alone is powerful, but when paired with intentional movement, the impact multiplies.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly one third of adults do not know how many steps they walk daily, meaning many people are navigating their health without a clear baseline for movement. That gap between intention and awareness is exactly where habits quietly stall, and it is where we knew our work needed to begin.

Walking is one of the most approachable and scientifically supported forms of movement available, yet it is often undervalued because of its simplicity. Research consistently shows that as few as 2,500 to 3,000 steps per day can begin improving health markers for individuals who are largely sedentary, while walking 4,000 to 6,000 steps daily has been linked to improvements in cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, blood sugar regulation, and reduced risk of all cause mortality. Walking also plays a significant role in weight management by increasing daily energy expenditure, supporting fat metabolism, and improving metabolic efficiency, even without structured workouts. Beyond the physical benefits, regular walking has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, improve mood through increased serotonin and dopamine, and support mental clarity, stress reduction, and emotional regulation.

Many walking challenges require participants to immediately aim for 5,000 to 10,000 steps per day, which can feel overwhelming or unrealistic for individuals who are not already active. We took a different approach. The 10 Milly Steps Challenge was intentionally designed to meet people where they are, starting with a daily goal of just under 3,000 steps, or approximately 20,000 steps per week. The goal was not to impress, but to create consistency, build awareness, and establish a foundation that participants could actually sustain.

What we discovered early on was that some participants were not missing goals because of lack of effort, but because they had never tracked their steps before. Once awareness entered the equation, behavior began to shift. Participants started noticing how movement showed up in their daily routines, how short walks after meals improved digestion and energy, and how small increases added up over time. To support that growth, we layered in monthly micro challenges, designed to encourage participation, friendly accountability, and gradual progression without pressure.

As engagement increased, so did confidence. Participants naturally began pushing past their original limits, and by the second month of the challenge, the entire group was exceeding both daily and weekly step goals. Over the past two months, participation has doubled, daily averages have climbed steadily, and what began as a simple walking initiative has grown into a community driven wellness experience.

As we look ahead, we are preparing to expand the program even further. In the coming months, we will be welcoming a dedicated program manager to support the growth of the 10 Milly Steps Challenge and guide participants toward new milestones. Our long term vision is to help our community reach a weekly average of 35,000 to 40,000 steps, while continuing to pair movement with increased access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and cold pressed juices that nourish the body at a cellular level.

We invite you to join us as we continue walking toward 10 million steps, investing in wellness through intentional movement, improved nutrition, and community support. If you are ready to increase your daily steps, elevate your energy, and explore what consistent movement can do for your health, we would love to walk alongside you.
